Shoaib Akhtar is planning yet another comeback, riding on the back of another controversy.
The Pakistan fast bowler has been through a string of controversies, injuries and tiffs with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Now Akhtar is planning to return and hopes to be selected for the ODI series in Sri Lanka.
However, while he may be named in the thirty list of probables for Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa, he must make the first cut. According to Akhtar, the PCB did not select him for the ICC World Twenty20 in England despite regaining fitness.
Akhtar missed the last edition of the ICC Champions Trophy when he tested positive for banned substance Nadrolone along with fellow fast bowler Mohammad Asif.
Akhtar is miffed that the PCB declared Akhtar’s skin condition as genital viral warts and says he would have sued the PCB for it but did not want to do so because he had a central contract with the board.
