Pakistan’s fast bowler is yet to officially make his return from his one year ban. But it already appears that controversy has caught up with him.
Mohammad Asif is set to make his return in the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa if he can proceed from Pakistan’s thirty probables list. In the meantime though, he is busying himself denying secret marriage reports.
Asif claims that the reports of his marriage to television actress, Veena Mallik, did not take place in a secret ceremony in London and that he would only buckle down to marriage upon the agreement of his parents and after making a name for himself upon comeback.
However, Veena has a different story to tell. According to her, Asif did propose to her but she turned him down because her career is paramount to her. There are even unconfirmed reports that Veena, despite Asif only being her friend as she claims, is funding the cricketer to fight his legal battles.
