Asif In, Akhtar Out In ICC Champions Trophy Probables

Pakistan announced its thirty ICC Champions Trophy probables that includes former ICL players but finds no room for Shoaib Akhtar.
Akhtar failed a fitness test rescheduled for his benefit by the chief selector, Wasim Bari, but it came as no surprise as the test lasted hardly twenty minutes with no bowling to speak of. Akhtar had missed the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 due to a skin infection later identified as genital viral warts.
However, Mohammad Asif, who completes his year ban for testing positive for banned substances during the IPL’s first season in 2008 in September, has been included in the provisional squad that also includes Mohammad Nazir, Rana Naved ul Hasan, Mohammad Yousuf and Sohail Tanveer.
