Just when the West Indies team was rejoicing at the prospect of captain Chris Gayle coming back into the context of the first Test against Australia at the Gabba, came the jolt of Ramnaresh Sarwan being in serious doubt to start.
Gayle had flown back home to Jamaica to be by his mother’s side as she was hospitalized with a heart problem. But Gayle has returned to Australia. But he may well have to do without one of his key men.
Sarwan suffered a back injury during a routine training session to the extent that he had to be helped off the Allan Border Field and is in serious doubt of making the team for the first Test beginning in Brisbane tomorrow.
