There’s more bad news for Lalit Modi. BCCI has terminated its contract with IMG. And Sohail Khan is talking about talk that it is not true that Salman wants an IPL team.
Perhaps it would be better to wait for the actual auctions to take place before knowing which two Indian cities will be added to the IPL teams in 2011 as also knowing who will bid for them. Modi sought unwarranted publicity when he stated that Salman Khan expressed interest in buying an IPL team.
Also K Sera Sera Productions, who produce films in Bollywood, are also said to be interested in the business proposition of owning an IPL team.
But Salman’s brother, Sohail Khan, who is also a Bollywood actor, has denied Salman’s interests stating he spoke to him when Salman denied any such idea.
It is almost as confusing as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) going back and forth and not really choosing to end the fight with the ICC over the 2011 World Cup issues. Former Pakistan cricketer, Aamir Sohail, has even taken a dig at the PCB stating that all they had settled for was gate revenue when they could have bargained to ensure security for the games.
Meanwhile, BCCI has stated financial discrepancies between service delivered and price quoted for the reason for cutting its ties with the IMG, the event management group that help the BCCI and Modi stage the IPL’s inaugural season as well as the IPL 2 in South Africa.
It is unclear yet what is going through the minds of the IMG as they are yet to respond.
