Beyond cricket: Disgraced Hair out for justice
Bharat | Feb 7 2007

He for long been had criticized for his unprofessional behaviour on the field - and the Oval controversy left him completely disgraced. Darrell Hair was banned from umpiring matches concerning Test playing nations by the International Cricket Council post the Pakistan Cricket Board’s appeal against the official following the ball-tampering fracas.

Hair
and Billy Doctrove were the two standing umpires who penalized Pakistan with five runs for tampering the ball later forfeited the Test ruling England winners of the game when Pakistan refused to take the field (feeling slighted by the penalty), in Pakistan-England game last year.

Darrell Hair believes he has been unjustly blamed in the ball-tampering brawl and is set to sue the PCB and the ICC for racial discrimination - he believes he has been dealt more harshly than fellow official Doctrove who’s a West Indian.

Doctrove is back into umpiring - Hair has been in criticism for racism against the sub continent teams and now he charges the PCB of “unlawfully inducing” the cricket’s governing body to racially discriminate him.
