Boucher was aghast with Cricket South Africa (CSA) after his close friend and vice captain Jacques Kallis was dropped from squad for next month’s Twenty20 tournament. He was so irate that CSA had ‘ulterior motives’ behind axing Kallis, the batting mainstay of the side.

Hurt by the snub, Kallis, relinquished his post as the vice-captain of the side earlier this month, forcing CSA to urge him to reconsider the decision.

Meanwhile, furious with Boucher’s allegation, CSA wanted to altogether the seasoned wicketkeeper buy the South African Cricketers’ Association sided with the stumper and managed to reduce the punishment.

Subsequently, Boucher appeared in a hearing after which disciplinary commissioner M D Kuper said his comments were meant to embarrass CSA.

Kuper also chided Boucher for his remark that South Africa was not sending the best team for the tournament.

Now, admonished and fined by the CSA, Boucher would be a miffed man at the Twenty20 World Cup and it remains to be seen whether sulky stumper can put behind the episode and give his best in the tournament.
