Brett Lee Effect: Aus Have ‘Family Programme’ in Place
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Apr 22 2009

Cricket Australia is taking the issue of the spouses rather seriously. Following perhaps in the aftermath of the bitter break up of Brett Lee from his wife Liz Kemp, CA has put a plan in place to ensure the wives and girlfriends (WAGS) do not have to suffer the unpleasant side effects of letting their life partners off on long tours.
Taking note of the fact that there are a number of young players on tour and of the fact that they are the breadwinners of young families, CA has decided to hold a camp for the players and their families a week prior to the Australian team leaving for England for a four month tour that involves not only the Ashes but the ICC World Twenty20 Championships before that and the ODIs series to follow.
CA is clearly not willing to risk the breakdown of their players as has happened with Lee with his marital problems and with Andrew Symonds going off on a tangent over his off field issues.
