Irfan Pathan did not get the gift of team selection for Eid. But his elder brother made sure that Irfan would smile even as the ICC Champions Trophy gets underway.
The younger Pathan was greeted on the occasion of Ramazan Eid with a brand new SUV, Toyota Fortuner, the latest to hit the town at a supposed price of Rs.18 lakh. The gift came from none other than his brother.
Yusuf Pathan is currently in South Africa in the team India’s plans for the ICC Champions Trophy. But perhaps there was a need to make the day special for his brother, Irfan, to whom Yusuf has always acknowledged as having helped his brother out, despite being younger but the first to break into the Indian team.
Irfan Pathan recently spoke about how he idolized Sourav Ganguly who made a splashing comeback to the Indian team after losing his captaincy and his spot. Irfan is not only hoping to come back to the Indian team in the ODI or Twenty20 format but wants to make an impact of the Test scene too.
Irfan was last seen in Indian colours in the ICC World Twenty20 in England after which he was surprisingly dropped. He has been named in the Irani trophy for the Rest of India (ROI)and will also make his presence felt for India Green in the NKP Salve Challenger series in the first week of October.
