Buchanan: My Theory was Misinterpreted
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Apr 13 2009

John Buchanan is trying to douse the fire after he set off the forest fire. He now states that he was merely following a 5,000 year old theory and had no interest in dethroning Sourav Ganguly.
The Kolkata Knight Riders were thrown into jeopardy when John Buchanan and Sourav Ganguly broke open the internal rifts in perspective about the handling of the Knight Riders. The KKR team was thrown out of gear by the controversial statement from the former Australian coach that the KKR would try out the multiple captain theory. It even saw Sunil Gavaskar and Shah Rukh Khan exchange unkind words.
But now Buchanan has broken his silence, stating that he was not in the mood to remove the concept of the squad captain, only that captains would be rotated for matches. He said he drew inspiration from the “Art of War” by Sun Tzu where more brains would be involved in the process of decision making.
But it is hardly likely to quell the storm he has kickstarted, even if it did not meet with everyone’s approval.
