Buchanan Not Certain for IPL 3
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jun 4 2009

John Buchanan’s days may be numbered. But that remains to be seen as Shah Rukh Khan is currently in the US.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders suffered the dubious humiliation of being the team with the wooden spoon in the IPL 2 in South Africa and many have attributed it to the dressing room drama that have kept the gossip columns alive but not the action on the field. Matters did not end with the ouster of Sourav Ganguly from the captain’s post. In fact John Buchanan’s multiple captain theory suffered all round criticism as did the KKR’s decision to send back Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar rather early during the IPL 2 and Brendon McCullum soon turned into the sullen captain of a rather disjointed team that even had issues of apparent racial discrimination. Before the IPL, the former Australian coach was also criticized for going after Bangladesh’s Mashrafe Mortaza at ridiculously high auction bargains.
With Buchanan being heavily criticized for carrying a rather large backroom staff, the allegations and liabilities have greatly increased and SRK has had to spend much of the time fighting off the controversies emanating from Buchanan.
But Buchanan himself may be facing the axe. Will his head roll?
