Buchanan’s Time Under The Sun May Be Over

Fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sourav Ganguly could be cheering well after the IPL 2 season is over. That is if the KKR bosses have decided to do away with the controversial former Australian coach.
John Buchanan caused quite the stir in the KKR as Director of Cricket Operations. For a man with a fancy title, not many took a fancy to his ideas. It is difficult to see or say how his plans could have worked but certainly the manner of execution have left a bad taste.
Shah Rukh Khan’s team was humbled in South Africa as they were clearly the team out of reckoning well ahead of the others. Many believe that it was Buchanan’s multiple captain theory before the take off of the IPL 2 season was responsible for the ensuing chaos within the team that only grew in unrest.
While sources within the KKR camp are indeed suggesting that it is curtains for the Australian and his band of support staff, Buchanan himself says he is unaware of such plans while Mott is hoping to continue his coaching stint through his tenure of three years as originally agreed upon.
After Greg Chappell, Buchanan will become the second Australian coach to have had a torrid time in India in a non-playing role and to be going back, much to the relief of some of the Indian fans as well as players.
