Buchanan: Unwilling to Let Go of Dada Trouble
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Mar 28 2009

Undeterred by the fact that the Kolkata police have had to provide him additional security against fanatical Bengal fans, John Buchanan has spoken out against Sourav Ganguly, a day after he hugged him in front of the media and called him the ‘King of Kolkata’.
Buchanan dismissed Ganguly’s talk with media persons that the latter was not aware of Buchanan’s multiple captain theory before Buchanan broke it to the public via the news medium. Buchanan states he did discuss Sourav’s role as well as the theory of having more than one captain during last year’s IPL season for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Humiliated Ganguly fans took to the streets, burning effigies of the former Australian coach and chanting protests. But Buchanan is determined in his stance, stating that Ganguly had no reason to be surprised and that all players including the likes of Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid were nearing the end of their careers and that Twenty20 had come at the wrong time for them and therefore, the change of guard was imperative.
Will Ganguly take to the mic to respond to this? Will this cause Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR to become self destructive?
