CL T20 1: Cape Cobras Ride High on Duminy Over RCB
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Oct 9 2009

There was no way Robin Uthappa was going to get away, having been dropped so many times. Royal Challengers Bangalore thought they had enough, but like the RCB captain Anil Kumble said, Duminy had other ideas.
Out of the reckoning in the Indian team, Uthappa hoped to use his opportunities in the Champions League Twenty20 to make a case for himself. He did not convince too many and despite the half century, his innings was riddled with too many opportunities that the South Africa Cape Cobras simply failed to latch onto.
The first game of the CL T20 that followed the opening ceremony was RCB stage a recovery from intermittent wobbles to make 180, considered a good score at Bangalore. However, the Cape Cobras fought back on the tenacity of Jean Paul Duminy who made a sparkling ninety-nine runs to wrest the game away from the hosts.
It was a thrilling finale and one that many thought Cobras would not be able to attempt, especially in the absence of Graeme Smith. However, they found JP Duminy in great form and used the opportunities well to put the first points on board.
