CL T20 S8 3: Pollard Slams NSW Blues, who Suffer the Blues!
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Oct 17 2009

Trinidad and Tobago have quickly moved from the unknown dark horses into the front runners in the Champions League Twenty20, beating Simon Katich’s New South Wales Blues in the Super Eights clash.
Kieron Pollard slammed an eighteen ball fifty-four run innings to take T and T a step further in the chase of NSW’s 170. Considered a stiff target by any standards in this tournament, the West Indies team struggled to eke out wickets as Phil Hughes starred with eighty-three runs from sixty-four balls while David Warner made sixty-three runs from forty-one balls. NSW slammed 121 runs for the first wicket and it seemed that once again the Australian team would sweep their opponents out of the competition.
Trinidad and Tobago looked precarious at 100 for five but they were only nine runs behind NSW in the over comparison. Dinesh Ramdin, Darren Bravo and captain Darren Ganga all got into good gears but all suffered by way of run outs to leave Pollard with what appeared to be an impossible task, before Pollard showed the strength in his arms and showing the vulnerable side of a team that had not tasted defeat till this match.
