The bomb scare pushed back the fourth Champions League Super Eights match by an hour and forty minutes at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But when play started, cricket won as did the Cape Cobras.
Victoria Bushrangers lost two quick wickets, that of Brad Hodge and Rob Quiney, in the first over with Monde Zondeki’s bowling that set them back. From 0 for two, the Bushrangers recovered first with Aiden Blizzard and later through David Hussey and captain Cameron White who top scored with twenty-nine runs as Bushrangers finished on a below par score of 125 which looked in doubt at three down for twenty-seven.
The Cape Cobras, without Herschelle Gibbs, rode comfortably on Henry David’s sixty-nine runs to reach the target in sixteen overs in a heavily one sided game that saw the Cobras qualify for the semi finals alongside the opponents from League B in the Champions League Twenty20.
