After the West Indies Cricket Board decided to do away with the services of coach John Dyson accusing him of not signing the contract, Dyson says there is another side to the story.
Dyson is clearly unhappy for the reason being given for his dismissal, especially because he says he was not given one!
Dyson was done away with at the end of the Bangladesh’s tour to West Indies when the West Indies fielded a severely depleted team. Although Dyson believes there are two or three good players in the second string squad, he stated that the loss of the big guns was a jolt of West Indies cricket as well as the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa.
Contrary to reports from the WICB that Dyson did not fulfill his part by signing on the dotted line, Dyson states there were numerous concerns about the contract, one of which was the fact that the contract bore the name of Bennett King, his predecessor to the coaching position. Dyson stated he did not sign the contract because no one from the board bothered to address his queries in the one and a half years of coaching the WI team. In much the same manner, he was only informed of his firing and not the reasons why.
