Cricket South Africa Looks Into Reasons Why Stadiums Continue to Remain Empty
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 23 2009

What does one notice in the picture - apart from Paul Collingwood? Empty Stands! That is exactly why Cricket South Africa is taking up the initiative to find out why crowds are not coming to the stadium.
CSA has decided to reach out to fans to find out why they are less inclined to come out in full attendance to watch the matches. In that initiative, it is believed that crowds prefer the comforts of watching the match in their own homes as also the fact that South Africa has become the hub of cricket and sports destination and thereby, forcing passionate fans to think wisely about when and where they would like to spend their money.
With South Africa slated to host the FIFA Football World Cup shortly, the exercise is expected to analyze and entice spectators.
It is believed that the combined tournaments of the IPL 2 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 may have also eaten into the bilateral series profits.
