Dhoni Reprimands Batsmen for Series Loss
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 9 2009

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has found the blame and it is not on the bowlers, not surprising after the Guwahati debacle.
In the aftermath of the loss of the sixth ODI in Guwahati and subsequent loss of the India Australia ODI series to Australia by a 4-2 margin, the Indian captain squared the blame on the batsmen.
The man who himself crossed 1000 runs for the calendar year believed inconsistency in the batting cost India the series. He felt that not all of the batsmen could get their act right and it resulted often in a situation where when the top order clicked, the middle order fell through and vice versa.
He also believed that the debacle in Guwahati happened all in the span of fifteen minutes and losing five wickets next to nothing on board was too much for the team to cope with.
In his opinion, the Indian team’s batting should have showed more backbones given that the likes of Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar was there to make things happen as well.
