Did Wasim Ignore Advice on Huma?
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Oct 28 2009

After the condolence, come the post mortem. The what-ifs are surfacing. Obviously there are of little use now.
Huma Akram passed away in Chennai. But doctors in Lahore are convinced that Huma not been shifted out from Pakistan, her survival changes would have been a lot more optimistic. Apparently, ten doctors, working in three different hospitals had advised Wasim Akram advised the family not to fly Huma to Singapore given her condition. But the advice was not heeded.
There are also conflicting reports stating that while Akram was open to the idea of following the doctor’s advice, Humayun Mufti, father of Huma, and his family felt that Huma would be better treated by doctors in Singapore, which the Pakistan doctors do not believe to be true.
As it turned out, Huma breathed her last in Apollo Hospital in Chennai, when the air ambulance had landed for refueling but had to offload the patient with complications developing en route to Singapore.
The cricket world continues to respond with shock, grief and condolence at the loss for Akram and his family including his two sons, Taimur and Akbar.
