There appears that the West Indies players are not the only cricketers to be an unhappy lot. England are joining the list even as Strauss worries about the shapings of the England ODI team.
England have missed the services of Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff, out with injuries, but it appears England have lost confidence, at least some of their members, or so claims England captain, Andrew Strauss.
Strauss has stated that rest was impending for some of the cricketers, James Anderson and Paul Collingwood were rested midway through the series, in order to prevent niggles becoming full blown problems rendering the England cricketers unavailable.
With the fourth consecutive defeat in the ODI series following the Ashes victory, Strauss is worried that their losses are becoming pandemic and one that England must arrest before going into the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa.
But England players, domestic included, are apparently unhappy over the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) decision to do away with the fifty over game, known as the Friends Provident Trophy, in domestic cricket and believe, as widely anticipated, that it was harming team preparations in international cricket.
The players are supposedly considering forming as association of their own to air their grievances and also their summary that the ECB’s actions in recent months have been made with a monetary intent in mind rather than with a genuine interest of cricket at heart.
