England's First UDRS Helps Eoin Morgan Score a Test Century on Debut; Sachin Against
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jul 30 2010

Eoin Morgan was grateful for the Umpire Decision Review System and he should be.
The first time the UDRS was actually employed in England, it saved Morgan from a premature dismissal that would have listed him in the score books as having scored eighty-seven runs after umpire Asoka de Silva gave him out to Pakistan bowler Danesh Kaneria on the first day of the first Test of the England Pakistan Test series.
However, Morgan’s partner at the crease, Paul Collingwood suggested he take the referral upon which Morgan was saved and went onto score his maiden Test century, this one on debut.
England are grateful for it as well even though Sachin Tendulkar remained unconvinced, favouring the Hot Spot instead. Unceasing debate? Use of technology in sport.
