Family Concern Could See Brett Lee Compromise
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 18 2009

Much against the voice of Australian cricket not to take the route of a freelance cricketer a la England all rounder, Andrew Flintoff, Brett Lee’s family troubles could see him compromise on his cricket diet.
The Australian fast bowler is facing an uncertain future following a sore elbow that may well require surgery and put him out of cricket for about three months. But while some are urging Lee not to forego Test cricket, Lee himself may do so reluctantly.
Brett Lee told the media that should he not have the opportunity to play cricket again, he would leave the game a satisfied man, knowing that he had given it his best.
He also added that he would look upon it as a blessing than a bane because it would mean he would to spend more time with his young son, Preston.
He talked about how he had barely spent two nights at home in the nine months of cricket and how he did not want to repeat that where he cannot be by his son.
Brett Lee has faced a lot of personal problems over a year ago after his much publicized split and divorce from his wife, Liz Kemp, and no doubt, spending time with Preston assumes even greater significance under the circumstances.
But the man who is still showing an insatiable hunger for the game will just feel perhaps he can give it his final shot, at least in retaining all three formats of the game, which looks like a difficult proposition as Australia appear to have moved on without him.
This comeback will have to be greatest yet perhaps.
