Fletcher's Presence Irks England, Pleases Arthur
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 19 2009

There is one shadow England are not too comfortable with on their tour to South Africa. It is the silent presence of former England coach, Duncan Fletcher.
While South African coach, Mickey Arthur has decided to become the team’s mouthpiece, perhaps a wise move to let Graeme Smith concentrate on himself and the team, England are getting a little uneasy about Fletcher’s role as consultant with Cricket South Africa.
Fletcher’s presence briefly for the ODIs and thereafter during the Test series means that England could feel compromised tactically speaking since Fletcher had a long run as coach and was also instrumental in England winning the Ashes the first time round in 2005.
While Arthur is not wasting time, gloating about the former coach’s presence within the South African dressing room, some of the England players are worried that Fletcher may have no qualms revealing certain strategies within the England dressing room that could impact the series. Arthur is certainly hoping it will.
