Flintoff's Knee Surgery To Keep Him Out for a Year
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Aug 21 2009

Andrew Flintoff’s retirement from Test cricket will also see a sabbatical of sorts for the England all rounder who is slated to undergo a knee reconstructive surgery.
At the immediate conclusion of the fifth and final Test of the Ashes at the Oval, Flintoff will undergo surgery, for which doctors, predict that he could be completely out of the game for anywhere between nine to twelve months, almost surely ruling him out not only of the immediate ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa but plausibly also the IPL 3 season of 2010 as well as the 2010 World Twenty20 in the Caribbean.
It is a crushing news for the England team as they struggle to make do without Kevin Pietersen, out with surgery for an Achilles heel.
