Even as Lalit Modi talked about how the few spots that were left were filled given that this was only for one year, the franchisees were openly pleading with the IPL Commissioner to rethink the decision to shuffle all players for IPL 4.
While Modi will introduce two more teams to take the IPL teams to ten for 2010, the franchisees do not want to enter into a situation where they will have to build their team in scratch. More pointedly, they do not want to part with their key players and are therefore, appealing to Modi to review the system before the next round of auctions.
