Gibbs To Bid International Cricket Adieu?
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Dec 10 2009

If Herschelle Gibbs does decide to retire, while it will not be a surprise development, it will still be a disappointment to the cricket world.
Apparently the South African explosive opener is planning to pull the curtains down on his career. The move could well have been instigated by the fact that Gibbs was only named in the South African ODI team after Jacques Kallis was dropped with a broken rib. But it would been in the coming given that at age thirty-five, Gibbs was pushing towards making a tough decision for the selectors to retain the flagging old or go with the promising new.
Gibbs has been sidelined for over a year and his dwindling performances have not really rammed the case to be selected soon.
But Gibbs is expected to play for the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers, but at this point, it depends less on whether Hyderabad is retained by Andhra Pradesh, becomes a Union Territory or becomes the capital of Telangana.
