The Indians may have soared with the success against Pakistan in their warm up match in England, but they had better be wary of Bangladesh who have been waiting for this opportunity.
India enjoyed their success against Pakistan at the Oval to the cheers of a raucous crowd. However, the warm up now gives way to the real thing, the ICC World Twenty20 in England. India’s first match of the tournament is in their league stage against neighbours Bangladesh.
While it may appear an unfair match up between the defending champions and a team that has settled into the bottom rung of the ICC approved Test nations, Bangladesh have a reputation for causing an uncanny upset. If anything, their deficiency is in the fact that they have not been able to sustain that consistency on a more regular basis.
With India riding high and expectations running high as well, their over confidence or even a slight complacency could well give Bangladesh something they have openly admitted to working towards – upsetting India to go through to the Super Eights. Watch out for Saturday’s line up.
