New Zealand showed why the discrepancy between the teams can affect the contest as they took on Scotland in the ICC World Twenty20 in England.
In a match reduced to seven overs a side, Scotland did reasonably well batting first. Karl Coetzer made the last dash while Ryan Watson and Navdeep Poonia made identical scores of twenty-seven. Eighty-nine in seven overs may have been a reasonable target but against New Zealand on the day, they were no match.
Ian Butler picked up three wickets, two of which came in the final over that involved a team hat trick.
Jesse Ryder blew the challenge away, making thirty-one from twelve balls while Brendon McCullum and Ross Taylor added the flourish from front and back to ensure New Zealand would not even come close to the hiccups that England suffered the previous night.
