ICL Players for IPL Auctions
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jul 29 2009

With IPL franchisees expressing interest in the mass exodus of players from the ICL after BCCI announced the amnesty, there may be an orderly way to poach a few valuable scalps.
There is a proposal being made to Lalit Modi, the Chairman and Commissioner for IPL, to have an auction before the IPL 3 whereby the interested ICL cricketers can be picked by the respective franchisees. There are already rumours that the John Buchanan stricken Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders are looking to pick up a catch that includes Abhishek Jhunjhunwala amongst others. Also amongst those that will come into contention includes sons of former Indian cricketers who were part of the winning Indian team that won the 1983 World Cup, Rohan Gavaskar (Sunil Gavaskar-father) and Stuart Binny (Roger Binny-father). With a long list of Indian players in the line, there will be certainly be an interesting sign up session, auction type or not.
