One man’s comeback inspires another, although the irony in this situation is that the man inspired happens to be Irfan Pathan and the man inspiring him is none other than Sreesanth.
Sreesanth has faced a torrent of critics who have slammed his aggression and over the top antics. With feuding team mates in the dressing room, Sreesanth was far from being the perfect example of those deserving to wear the Indian cap despite all his talent.
Well, the tables have now turned. Not only Irfan Pathan, but also Ishant Sharma, could take heart from Sreesanth’s performances in the second Test in Kanpur against Sri Lanka.
Irfan was all praise for Sreesanth and he believes Sreesanth has set the prime example this time, developing his body language and temperament in the domestic Ranji Trophy matches and has carried forth his mission with consistency towards being named in the playing eleven again.
Sreesanth’s brilliant comeback in a year and a half has inspired Irfan Pathan to keep going at it in the domestic circuit and earn back his place in the Indian team.
Perhaps Ishant Sharma needs a refresher course too, having been kept out of the second Test. Nothing like a break to remember what it was all worth!
