Ind SL T 3 Day 1 Stumps: Dilshan Ton Keeps SL Interested
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Dec 2 2009

Sri Lanka were propelled by two exceptional innings. Even as they lost wickets to give India a chance, the runs flowed at the day drew to a close, leaving this match interesting on the first day of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
Tillekeratne Dilshan needed just one run to complete a fine century after tea, but for Sri Lanka, there was the added impetus of Angelo Matthews who ensured that despite Sri Lanka going to tea on four down for 213, were standing quite nicely at the end of the day’s play.
Harbhajan Singh eventually got rid of Dilshan with the scoreboard reading five down for 262. But Angelo Mattews ensured that Sri Lanka became the team to score the most number of runs scored by a foreign team in a day’s play in India, by giving Sri Lanka hope even though they were eight down with the score card on 366 as Matthews remained not out on eighty-six.
The partnerships kept coming for India and even though Harbhajan Singh ended up with four wickets and Pragyan Ojha had two wickets to his name, Sri Lanka kept getting the runs. But India will feel confident they can halt this progress here, once they dismiss Matthews.
