Ind SL T2 Day 4: India Seal Big Win with 100th Test Victory!
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 27 2009

India could have asked for a more emphatic victory than the one in Green Park, Kanpur in the second Test against Sri Lanka to mark their 100th Test win!
The win was already in the offing after India scalped four wickets Sri Lankan wickets last evening and all that remained on the fourth day was picking up the remaining.
Sreesanth created the buzz of victory on the third day morning and Harbhajan Singh decided to shine on what turned out to be the fourth day of the Test match. But picking up the final wickets also meant dismissing Thilan Samaraweera who tried to prevent the obvious.
While India could not lodge Samaraweera, what they did was nail his support batsmen. Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis decided to delay the inevitable though. They managed to take the game beyond lunch but they could no prevent India from picking up their 100th Test win, leaving Sri Lanka feeling shallow by an innings and 144 runs. Yuvraj Singh also got into the action with the wicket of Mendis although Harbhajan was the key in picking up the wickets that pushed Sri Lanka closer to the brink of defeat.
With Harbhajan Singh on song and Sreesanth on an unbelievable comeback, the signs look ominous for India as they do for Sri Lanka.
