India will look to erase unpleasant memories from not only the Caribbean but also, from India during the ODI series on tour to the West Indies.
India are without their firepower Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and will also miss Suresh Raina. Yet team India have a tough task ahead of them, erasing not only bad memories from the 2007 World Cup when they even lost to Bangladesh in the Caribbean but also, banish the demons that came out into the open during the ICC World Twenty20 in England. In the latter event, the West Indies also contributed significantly to oust India from the tournament by beating them in the Super Eights.
Since then, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Gary Kirsten have differed over the reason for India’s dismal performances. But here India have the opportunity to set it right against the Twenty20 semi finalists who eventually lost to Sri Lanka. It is time for the games to begin, again.
