The Indian team brushed off the warm up loss to New Zealand as a matter of mere practice. But now seriousness will come into the team as Yuvraj Singh is injured.
Yuvraj’s finger injury could cause problems for India’s batting line up. India cannot afford any slip ups in the league stage of the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa and if Yuvraj has indeed done more damage in terms of a fracture, it would be a blow.
As India prepare to take on Pakistan on Saturday, Yuvraj’s scans and medical tests will show whether indeed India may have to do without him. If that is the case, it would be tragedy on the batting front after Virender Sehwag missed the bus and Gautam Gambhir will be coming back on the back of a groin injury.
India have their fingers crosses...perhaps they shouldn’t.
