With Today being the 1st of April, it is only natural to tread cautiously and to treat every piece of news and information with a pinch of salt. It also provides an opportunity to explore some of the headlines that would actually perhaps surprise the cricket fans. Here are a few:
1. In a stunning reversal, Lalit Modi has decided to move the second season of the IPL back to India. Citing the backlash from home grown cricket fans, Modi and the IPL organizers have decided to shift the IPL back into India.
2. Pietersen quits England and comes back into the South African fold. This may not appear so funny to Pietersen himself given that he has not taken kindly to similar jibes made during England’s tour to the West Indies. But it is something on those lines that could only push the Pietersen saga further into orbit.
3. Ganguly forms his own Kolkata team. Not withstanding criticism from John Buchanan, Ganguly has decided he will form his own IPL team and lead it with only Bengali players in the line up, in a bid to upstage Shah Rukh Khan.
4. Greg Chappell congratulates John Buchanan on furthering his cause. Chappell himself packed his bags but only after ensuring he left behind a legacy.
5. Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh have now been named multiple captains for team India, in keeping with the Australian thought policy.
Leave alone revolutions, these were on a lighter vein. Cricket continues on to soldier in normal vein, in sane or sane fashion.
