Jesse Ryder appears a reformed man when India toured New Zealand to the IPL 2 in South Africa. It now appears that the woes of the Royal Challengers Bangalore appear to have caught up with his old demons.
Reports in the media suggested that Ryder was involved in an explosive incident after drinking and that security guards were required to restrain him. However, the Royals Challengers Bangalore coach Ray Jennings has denied that Ryder has anything more to do with the story other than break his vow not to drink after missing out a match in early 2009 against the West Indies.
Ryder’s mentor Murray Decker spoke about the latest controversy, “Jesse’s had over a hundred days of sobriety and has made enormous progress during that time, on and off the field. Now for that to continue he needs support and moves have already been made to assist him to get back on top.”
It appears the RCB’s cup of woes are spilling over and it may be having a negative effect on Ryder who has not had a great time on the field so far, despite a sterling performance against the Indians in the Test series back home.
