The end games are finally here. After much controversy and hullabaloo, the IPL 2 is witnessing its first semi final and it is a battle between the Delhi Daredevils and the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers at Super Sport Park, Centurion.
The Deccan Chargers have not beaten the Daredevils in the inaugural IPL in India or in the IPL 2 in South Africa. However, they have been a roll of sorts after a dismal showing in the first IPL edition.
Led by captain Adam Gilchrist, the Deccan Chargers boast of big hitters in the dynamic Herschelle Gibbs, Australian stronghold Andrew Symonds, Indian charge Rohit Sharma who has also proved handy with the ball. R.P. Singh leads the most wicket taker column with twenty wickets and it appears the Deccan Chargers on paper can forget about not beating the Daredevils before and throw caution to the wind because the final is at stake.
The Delhi Daredevils have been the most consistent team of the tournament and have a well balance composition as they did last year. While Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have only woken to the demands unlike last year, AB de Villiers has been in amazing form as has Tillekeratne Dilshan. Dinesh Karthik is coming to the party. Their fast bowling department has been doing the job so well that Glen McGrath has not had a chance. Ashish Nehra will open the bowling with Dirk Nannes and Daredevils should go ahead on form.
But with two bullish teams with a goal like the IPL 2 final, explosions could be on the cards.
