IPL begins to Create Rifts as Predicted

The cash rich Indian Premier League would have predictably made the players around the globe go crazy. Not only the ones who are playing and earning but even the ones who haven’t got an opportunity yet are itching to get a slice of the cake and even if that comes at the cost of getting into an argument with their respective national cricket authorities. The English players who haven’t yet got the sanction form the ECB to participate in the lucrative deal have started giving a clear indication that it is not about playing for the country anymore and IPL is a better option than fairing for the country’s cause.

In a recent survey by the players union in England, it has been revealed that 35 percent of the English cricketers representing the current test and one-day team would consider going in for an early retirement and preferring to rather play in the cash happy affair. This could come as a major shock for the ardent barmy army supporters who travel around the globe to support their team for they would now know that these are a bunch of players who rather prefer money than adorning national colours.

Considering the English players stance, they too aren’t wrong for players are earning as mush as their annual salaries within just a matter of weeks by playing in the opulent extravaganza. Few experts dub the IPL as nebulous and use statistics as the drop in viewership to stake their claim that IPL would eventually be a short-lived phenomenon but considering the players around the globe going mad to be amidst action and money, such a prediction doesn’t sound cumbersome.
