IPL2 Game 55: Daredevils Live Dangerously against MI After SF Qualification
Sreelata Yellamrazu | May 22 2009

Virender Sehwag gave his team and himself a work out alright. Wanting his team to practise chasing, Sehwag chose to field first and Mumbai Indians decided to give the first semi finalists a thorough workout.
Mumbai Indians had a solid foundation in Sachin Tendulkar who kept the game alive with his forty-six from forty-one balls. While it was not his most scintillating knocks, it kept the MI scorecard ticking, having lost Sanath Jayasuriya for naught, and JP Duminy and Mohammad Ashraful without troubling the scorers much. Dirk Nannes once again played the part of the premier bowler to perfection, taking three wickets and Pradeep Sangwan backed up well with two wickets.
An unlikely companion in Ajinkya Rahane kept Tendulkar company at the crease and later converted his start to a telling innings to take MI to 165 on a back of a valiant half-century.
The Delhi Daredevils had unlikely heroes as well. Gautam Gambhir has not set the stage of fire and there was nothing much about Virender Sehwag to write home about. On this occasion, one near half centurion and another half centurion took Delhi to safety.
And Delhi needed a rescue act after Harbhajan Singh picked up four wickets including that of AB de Villiers and Rajat Bhatia off successive balls. But the victory was still within touching distance and Delhi won it in their warm up match ahead of their semi finals in IPL 2 at Supersport Park, Centurion.
