Irfan Gets License To Wed

The long awaited announcement finally happened. Irfan Pathan is all set to marry his girlfriend of six years.
Irfan Pathan will wed Shivangi Dev, whom he has been seeing since the 2003-’04 bilateral series in Australia. Even as recently as the last tour to Australia where the monkey gate or the infamous Sydney gate scandal broke out between Andrew Symonds and Harbhajan Singh, Irfan did not return with the rest of the team to India. While speculation was rife that he had stayed back to spend time with his lady love, an injury excuse for made for Irfan’s delay to India and Irfan himself told media persons that he would inform the people if he was getting married.
Now it appears the daughter of an Indian diplomat in Australia and the Indian all rounder will tie the knot. They have finally received their parents’ blessing and despite the fact that Irfan had proposed to her three years ago, the approval took time.
The younger brother of Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, was unfortunate to miss out on the ODI series in the West Indies even though he performed well in the ICC World Twenty20 in England.
While no date has been publicly announced, Irfan insists the wedding will be a traditional one and will be held in Vadodara his hometown. Shivangi is presenting working as a chartered account in Australia where she also teaches dance. People will remember Irfan is not left footed either, having taken part in a famous dance competition on reality television that featured fellow cricketers, Vinod Kambli and Sreesanth.
