Ishant Sharma: Wary After Stint at Troubled KKR
Sreelata Yellamrazu | May 22 2009

What could be the worst fall out of an acrimonious dressing room for team India? The loss of peace for one of their leading fast bowlers.
Ishant Sharma had a rough time in the Kolkata Knight Riders dressing room in the IPL 2 in South Africa. While he was Shah Rukh Khan’s team’s best bowler with eleven wickets, he has had his first taste of defeat, something he did not experience with team India.
It is an indication of how well the Indian cricket team have been doing that Ishant Sharma is feeling worse after spending time defeat after defeat with the KKR. The losses have taken a toll on their mind and Ishant Sharma is no exception.
It did not help that John Buchanan tread one controversy after another and the captaincy became a controversial issue with Sourav Ganguly out and Brendon McCullum in. But it did not change their fortunes, as they ended up with a humiliating losing streak to finish at the bottom of the IPL 2 points table tally every early in the season.
It will be interesting how relieved Ishant would be feeling as he now changes jerseys from black to blue for team India in the second edition of the ICC World Twenty20 in England in a few day’s time.
