There is a little tension in the England dressing room and it steps from the appointment of the England vice captain.
Even as England embark on their tour to South Africa, one man has a grouse and he would like to be heard.
James Anderson, England’s key fast bowler, is not too appreciative of the fact that he has been overlooked for the post of the England vice captain. Instead opening batsman, Alastair Cook, has been named for the post as England go to South Africa.
Anderson believed a couple of factors went against him. He believes bowlers generally do not get the opportunity. And besides, he believes that his being from the north part of the country has not done his chances good, an allegation that is more serious than the way it has been treated.
But James Anderson clears would like to captain the England team and he is not hiding the fact.
Who knows? England are developing a reputation of changing captains when playing against South Africa. From Nasser Hussain to Michael Vaughan and Paul Collingwood to Kevin Pietersen. Andrew Strauss should not rest easy as England’s captain.
