Kirsten Will Stay With Team India, BCCI States Even as South Africa May be Eyeing Him
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Feb 3 2010

The BCCI clearly has Gary Kirsten on its radar for renewal. But the South African could have an offer from his homeland, such is the buzz.
Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the chairman of the Indian selection panel, is keen to renew Kirsten’s contract as the Indian coach which expires in March after he first signed on in 2008. The fact that Kirsten has been a rather silent but firm figure behind the scenes is something that will not go unnoticed.
However, the BCCI had better rush the papers before Kirsten is approached by Cricket South Africa with the possibility of filling Mickey Arthur’s shoes as South Africa’s coach. Corrie van Zyl has currently been appointed as caretaker coach for South Africa’s tour of India.
