Sex and football have always shared an uncomfortable relationship with international coaches divided over whether sex before a match is good or not. But the Indian cricket coach, former South African batsman, Gary Kirsten, believes sex is the mantra for success.
Kirsten may not come across as a modern age guru but he is imparting something (wisdom or not, perhaps a lab test will tell).
Kirsten has advised the Indian cricketers, who are currently in South Africa for the ICC Champions Trophy preparing to take on Pakistan in their first Group A match, to eat properly because in his opinion, not eating would build acid in the stomach, which in turn affects fatigue and creates over sexuality. It can also make them irritable.
Kirsten goes on to state, in a document that was supposed to be kept secret, that cricketers should go ahead and indulge in sex because a lack of it would cause significant drop in the testosterone levels in the body, apparently for both men and women. Why is low testosterone not good? Testosterone increases aggression and therefore, the greater the urge to fight and contest.
Kirsten is reported to have stated in the report - don’t let a lack of a partner stop you. Go at it, solo!
