Lalit Modi and Brian Lara were in an on-the-air animated discussion about whether the West Indian would be a part of IPL 4 in 2011.
The IPL Commissioner and the West Indian were in Kolkata for the Kolkata Knight Riders versus Royal Challengers Bangalore game at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and sharing space with Shah Rukh Khan.
While rumour mills went into overdrive about Lara signing up for the KKR team, Modi admitted that when he first conceptualized the Indian Premier League, he has spoken to Brian Lara. But he stopped short of saying that Lara had already signed up for the Indian Cricket League (ICL).
Now Modi is coaxing Lara to come back to the game via the IPL. But Lara was diplomatic while hinting he would assess what his body was telling him in four months’ time.
