Australia may have suffered a massive blow ahead of their Ashes preparation for the first Ashes Test beginning on Wednesday. Brett Lee has once again pulled up with injury and remains in doubt about his chances for the first Test at Cardiff.
Sophia Gardens saw Lee break down with pain on his left side and it is being assumed that his chest pains have to do with a possible rub injury that could put him out of the first Test at least. While Lee is undergoing scans, the Australian team management remains non committal on Lee’s chances, stating that the results are yet to be made known.
Lee fought his way after knee and ankle surgeries and after a year long battle to prolong his career after his divorce and injuries, it appears fate may have dealt the Australian fast bowler a cruel blow. Only last week he impressed the Australian selectors by defying notions of his ability to bowl in English conditions by taking six wickets in the warm up match against the England Lions and virtually guaranteed of a place alongside Mitchell Johnson and Peter Siddle.
Now fingers are crossed over whether he will take the field come Wednesday.
