Craig MacMillan finds himself in contention despite having played in the ICL. The Sky TV boss wants him in the commentary box but has been told it could upset the broadcaster Sony Television.
It is an ongoing battle between ICL affiliated players and their boards. Now it appears that it is getting into the commentary box as well.
Craig MacMillan, former New Zealand explosive batsman, has been in recent times seen captaining the Royal Bengal Tigers team from Kolkata in the ICL. Now while Sky TV wants him as commentator for the second Test when Ravi Shastri will be unavailable, they have been told that the move could potential disrupt relations with Sony Entertainment who bought the television rights for the IPL.
Sky TV does not want to have to cower to pressure and recently the Super Sport channel was undetered in letting Daryll Cullinan, also associated with the ICL take up the commentary position alongside Kepler Wessels, who coached the IPL Chennai Super Kings team.
How much can be divided? Where will this divisive line end? And at what cost?
