Modi Goes Soft on the Australians in IPL Issue
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Dec 23 2009

A day after it was reported that the IPL was against having Australian cricketers giving the Twenty20 tournament a miss a second year in a row, Lalit Modi has promised a more lenient view of the issue.
The IPL Chairman and Commissioner has stated that the IPL would not go to the extent of tearing up the contracts of the IPL affiliated Australian cricketers who skip the IPL 3 in 2010 due to the domestic season in Australia.
Modi said he was aware of the situation brought on by the necessity to prepone the IPL for the 2010 ICC World Twenty20, which would have meant a clash across different nations and therefore, would take into consideration the problems of the players involved.
