Modi Lose Election; Blames Govt and Vasundara Raje
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Mar 1 2009

The nightmare became a reality. Lalit Modi lost the elections and yet continues to occupy another chair!
Modi lost the elections to be reelected as the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) by a margin of five votes. Modi has been fighting off his detractors for the elections and the change of government went against him.
He stated that his proximity to the then Chief Minister Vasundara Raje cost him his position and also, blamed the Rajasthan government for doing everything in its power to malign him and deny him the position.
Though he has stated that Jaipur will remain the venue of the opening ceremony and games of the second season of the IPL, Modi is not in danger as far as his position in the BCCI is concerned, because he has a chair in the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). Sounds a little strange, to be president of one association while holding position in another! Franchisee like or something more?
